FAQ
Q. Is Konk ozone safe?
A. Konk is propelled by ozone-friendly hydrocarbons and does not contain any harmful chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs)

Q. Will Air Guard harm us breathing it all the time?
A. As Pyrethrum is a natural extract the Air Guard is probably about as harmful as working in the garden. The American Conference of Government Industrial Hygienists have advised a level of 5mg/cu.m of air is unlikely to have any adverse affects on workers in the Pyrethrum industry, exposes for a working lifetime, 8 hours a day, 5 days a week. The Air Guard produces a level approximately 0.006mg/cu.m in the average house, ie 1/850 of the recommended "safe" level.

Q. What happens to all that chemical in the air?
A. Pyrethrin degrades most rapidly whilst airborne, in small particle sizes, as emitted by the Air Guard. Within a short time after emission, the Pyrethrin evaporates and is not detectable. Considerable work in the USA and Canada failed to detect any food contamination by Pyrethrins in either laboratory or working situations where Air Guard was in use. Compare this to "saturation" spraying by hand held aerosols, producing some 250 time more emission, making contamination a certainty.

Q. How certain is the safety of Air Guard?
A. In the first 10 years of the introduction of automatic Pyrethrin dispensers in the USA, over 500,000 units were put in service. There was not one single toxicological complaint registered. Now after 30 years, there are many millions of these machines in service world wide.

Q. Can Air Guard be used in food premises, such as resturants, etc?
A. Air Guard is widely used in North American food premises on the following conditions:
1. The Air Guard is not used as a substitute for basic santiation
2. The Air Guard shall be used in accordance with the manufacturers instructions
3. The Air Guard is used within the requirements of the Food Hygene Regulations, so as not to risk contaimination of exposed food.

Q. Does Air Guard smell?
A. Unlike sunthetic compounds, natural Pyrethrin has an odour, Konk is perfumed to cover this odour, but it can be noticeable for a few seconds after emission. Best to put your Air Guard in a non-living area, such as a hallway, if using Konk Natural.

Q. Is Konk approved in New Zealand?
A. Konk Natural is New Zealand Pesticides Board approved No.3913 and Konk Odourless No.4122
